Over the past 10 years I’ve travelled extensively across Russia, the North Caucasus, the South Caucasus and many corners of the former Soviet Union, with a particular interest in border regions and lesser-known destinations.
I’ve visited places such as Chechnya, Ingushetia, Kaliningrad, the Kola Peninsula, Crimea and Abkhazia, primarily independently and using local transport.
My guides combine practical logistics with personal experience from the road. I only write about places I’ve actually visited and regularly update information whenever circumstances change.
